Description

The typical Carso village of Santa Croce is located 208 metres above sea level and has 1280 inhabitants. Until 50 years ago, it was famous for its tuna fishing that involved the entire village: people placed at various points along the cliff top would direct their companions in the boats, as they could spot the schools of tuna from above with greater ease.
