The baths of Monfalcone

Description

Behind the former island, there are still some thermal springs from which warm water emerges at 20°-40°C. and which were used until the First World War. A number of mosaic floors have been found in this area, together with a Roman cargo ship, found in 1972 and now on display in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale at Aquileia. In 2013, seventy years after they closed, the Roman Baths of Monfalcone re-opened and now offer spa treatments and a pool.
